Maxine Wessels

Maxine Wessels, CA (SA), is a Director at Paradigm Governance Partners, a Cayman Islands based provider of governance and fiduciary services to the investment funds industry. Miss Wessels serves as an accountant, AML officer and as an independent director on the Boards of alternative investment vehicles including hedge funds, crypto funds, private equity, artwork SPVs, personal holding companies and Investment Management vehicles (including governance and advisory committees). She is a Professional Director registered pursuant to the Cayman Islands Directors Registration and Licensing Act, 2014.

Prior to joining Paradigm, Miss Wessels was an Audit Manager in the Asset Management department at KPMG in the Cayman Islands. She has worked for KPMG for almost 7 years in several locations including South Africa and the United States. During her time at KPMG, Miss Wessels has accumulated a wealth of knowledge of the various auditing and accounting standards and experience in managing the audits of a variety of Funds.

Whilst working in the Cayman Islands, Miss Wessels also did a short-term secondment with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority in 2021.

Miss Wessels has a Bachelor of Commerce specializing in Financial Accounting: Chartered Accounting Stream degree as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Cape Town. Furthermore, Miss Wessels is a registered chartered accountant with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (“SAICA”) as well as a member of the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants (“CIIPA”).

Miss Wessels holds South African citizenship and is a resident of the Cayman Islands.
