At Paradigm Governance Partners, personal engagement and partnership are core values. Participating in local community events is more than just a way to give back; it’s an expression of our belief in individual and collective responsibility and the importance of being connected and part of the community. Over the past few weeks, our team has proudly taken part in four incredible events aimed at raising awareness and funds for cancer and emergency relief efforts. These events—Pilates for Pink, the Cayman Islands Red Cross Annual Golf Tournament, and Walk for the Cure—highlight the power of community and collaboration in driving positive change.
Cayman Islands Red Cross Annual Golf Tournament
On September 6th, 2024, Paradigm team members teed off at the North Sound Golf Club for the 26th Annual Cayman Islands Red Cross Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament not only marked a two-decade milestone since Hurricane Ivan but also celebrated the Red Cross’s vital role in disaster relief across the Cayman Islands.
Paradigm was proud to sponsor a hole and participate in an event that honours the resilience of our community in the face of challenges. Reflecting on Hurricane Ivan’s devastation while also celebrating the Cayman Islands Red Cross’s commitment to aiding in times of crisis was a powerful experience for all involved.
Pilates for Pink
On October 5th, 2024, Paradigm team members Michelle Montague-O’Mahony, Laura McGeever, Sam Taylor, Javiera Aguayo, Danielle Lee and Lisa Higgins (our visiting colleague from Hawksford) joined over 300 participants in the annual Pilates for Pink event at the ARC Camana Bay. This special event brings together the Cayman Islands community for a group Pilates session, raising funds for the Cayman Islands Cancer Society.
As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Pilates for Pink serves as a reminder of the importance of early detection and the ongoing need for research, treatment, and support for cancer patients. Events like this offer hope, solidarity, and a way to support those who are impacted by cancer, directly or indirectly.
Walk for the Cure
The following day, on October 6th, 2024, our team members joined thousands of participants in Walk for the Cure, one of the Caribbean’s largest cancer fundraising initiatives. This event raised vital funds for cancer care organisations and continues to grow as a symbol of hope across the region. The local Cayman event started and ended at Public Beach, with 100% of proceeds benefitting the Cayman Islands Cancer Society. Paradigm team members walked alongside other corporate partners and individuals, contributing to the important goal of improving cancer treatment and supporting local cancer patients and their families.
Brava Pickleball Classic
On the afternoon of October 4th, a Paradigm team comprising Geoff Ruddick, Leo Kassam, Neil Gray, and Maxine Wessels participated in the inaugural Brava Pickleball Classic in support of the YMCA of the Cayman Islands Youth Football Program. Partner Leo Kassam remarked, “Paradigm Governance Partners were delighted to be invited to participate in this inaugural event and to sponsor one of the courts, in addition to hosting a team. It was a wonderful afternoon and evening filled with fun, friendly competition, and community spirit.”
