At Paradigm Governance Partners, we take pride in supporting and participating in a variety of events that bring value to both our industry and the community. Over the past few months, our team has been actively involved in initiatives that inspire professional growth, raise mental health awareness, and strengthen team bonds. From industry panels to mental health advocacy, and a unique team-building experience, these events reflect our commitment to making a positive impact both within and outside the office.

100 Women in Finance

We were thrilled to co-sponsor the 100 Women in Finance Mid-Career Cayman event, an inspiring morning filled with valuable insights on personal branding. Paradigm’s own Laura McGeever was a featured panellist, sharing her expertise on how professionals in the financial services industry can unlock their potential by building credibility and communicating their value effectively.

Panellists discussed the key components of personal branding from both personal and corporate perspectives, offering attendees actionable strategies to create lasting connections and open doors to new opportunities. We are incredibly proud of Laura for her contributions to the panel and the powerful discussions that took place.

Thank you to our co-sponsor, EY, and to 100 Women in Finance for hosting such an impactful event. We hope that the insights shared will help shape the professional journeys of all those who attended.

Team building at Matrix Cayman

Creating strong relationships within our team is a core value at Paradigm, and what better way to do that than through an afternoon of fun and adventure. A few weeks ago, we gathered at The Matrix for an exhilarating team-building experience. The day kicked off with an exciting virtual reality session, where we tackled virtual challenges together, strengthening our teamwork and communication skills in a whole new way.

The day wrapped up with a delicious South African Braai, in celebration of South African Heritage Day, giving us a chance to unwind and enjoy some amazing food. The event was made even more special by sharing it with two of our visiting Hawksford colleagues.

At Paradigm, we believe that fostering strong connections within our team makes us better equipped to serve our clients, and this event was a perfect reflection of that commitment.

Geoff Ruddick, Partner, said: “As we continue to support events that align with our values, we remain dedicated to making a positive impact both professionally and personally. Whether it’s through industry leadership, mental health advocacy, or building strong internal bonds, Paradigm Governance Partners is committed to contributing to the well-being of our community and team.”

CPR, AED, and First Aid training

In addition to participating in fundraising events, we are also dedicated to ensuring our team is equipped with the skills needed to respond in emergencies. Some staff members have recently completed CPR, AED, and First Aid training, provided by YMCA of the Cayman Islands, with the remaining staff to complete their training before the end of the year, reinforcing our commitment to the safety and well-being of both our team and the wider community.

Understanding how to administer CPR, use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and provide basic first aid can be lifesaving in a critical situation. At Paradigm, we believe these skills are not only valuable for the workplace but are essential in our everyday lives, whether responding to an incident at work, in public, or even at home. This training enhances our ability to contribute to the safety of those around us, underscoring our responsibility to care for the community.

Geoff Ruddick, Partner, said: “At Paradigm Governance Partners, giving back to the community and ensuring the well-being of those around us are core values. Whether it’s through raising funds for cancer care, supporting disaster relief, or providing lifesaving first aid, we remain dedicated to making a difference. We are proud of the Paradigm team’s involvement in these initiatives and look forward to supporting many more in the future.”

Raising mental health awareness with the Alex Panton Foundation

As part of our ongoing commitment to mental health advocacy, we were honoured to host Shane Purcell from the Alex Panton Foundation (APF) for an insightful presentation on mental health awareness and the organisation’s initiatives in the Cayman Islands. The session focused on overcoming the stigma of mental illness, especially among youth, and highlighted the Foundation’s key programs.

Shane shared important updates on APF’s work, including the need for fundraising (as they receive no government funding), their success in pushing forward legislation to decriminalise suicide, and their role in influencing public policy to expand healthcare coverage for mental illness. It was an eye-opening discussion that emphasised the critical need for mental health education and support in our community.

Paradigm was proud to contribute to this cause by donating, and we are grateful to Shane for sharing the incredible work APF is doing to improve mental health awareness and support in Cayman.
