We are in awe of the achievement of our oldest member of staff, who has completed a truly remarkable feat.

William Woods, a professional independent director, is also a keen marathon runner. He recently put the rest of us young ones to shame by completing a marathon in Antarctica, the final feat on a bucket list, which means he has now run a marathon on each of the world’s seven continents. This also means he has been admitted to the Seven Continents Club – which has only around 1,000 members.

He tells us that whilst the scenery and wildlife in Antarctica are incredible the most memorable marathon he has run was in New York City. “With over 58,000 participants and hundreds of thousands of loud supporters lining the route through New York it is a very different experience from the 103 participants and a few hundred penguins on the route in Antarctica!” he joked.
