During the “Season of Giving”, we were delighted to support Cayman Islands Meals on Wheels with some special deliveries during Cayman Island’s Thanksgiving Weekend.
Cayman Islands Meals on Wheels has been an invaluable pillar of support for our local community for over a decade—an initiative we wholeheartedly embrace and take pride in supporting. Dedicated to enhancing the lives of the home-bound, frail, elderly, and those with physical or mental disabilities in Grand Cayman, Meals on Wheels goes beyond delivering hot, nourishing meals; it delivers genuine smiles and a sense of connection.
This service not only provides essential sustenance but also extends a helping hand to maintain the self-worth and independence of those in need, allowing them to continue living comfortably in their own homes. Recognising the impact of isolation on many seniors, Meals on Wheels has a team of over 100 volunteers that actively engage with recipients, offering meaningful social contact that serves as a lifeline for individuals facing the challenges of solitude.
The organisation is also spearheading a Christmas-focused community initiative this holiday season. “Santa for Seniors” is supported by the Westin Beach Resort & Spa. Becoming a Santa for Seniors supporter involves buying an item from the Wish List, which includes essential items like slippers, bathrobes, hygiene products, perfume and more. Alternatively, you can become a Santa for Seniors supporter through donating here: www.pledgeasenior.com, selecting the option to ‘donate what you can’, and including the note “Santa for Seniors”. A full breakdown of what is included on the Santa for Seniors wish list can be found by clicking here.

“By supporting Cayman Islands Meals on Wheels, we contribute to a cause that not only addresses the nutritional needs of our community members but also fosters a sense of companionship and community, making a lasting impact on the well-being of those we are privileged to serve.”
